What is IVF?

In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) is a method in which the egg and sperm are brought together outside the body in order to to fertilize the egg. If this is successful, the fertilized egg (called the embryo at a later stage) is placed in the uterus.

During IVF treatment, an attempt is made to to mature several eggs using hormonal stimulation. This creates a greater chance of success. This treatment is carried out in the hospital by the gynecologist. Prior to this process, various examinations are always carried out.

This is the hormones and microbiology package for IVF treatments on day two of your cycle. This concerns research into fertility and general markers. In addition, microbiological parameters are tested, such as STDs and pathogens that can be harmful to a person. unborn child. This test is suitable and provides a complete picture prior to IVF treatment. The research is done on behalf of Genesis.

Can I do this research on any day?

The hormones FSH, LH and estradiol should preferably be performed on day two for this test. We are also open for this on Saturday at certain locations, including The Hague. The other examinations are not time-dependent, but will also take place on day two for convenience.

Is this research suitable for IVF treatment?

These provisions have been approved by the gynecologists and embryologists of Genesis, a provider of IVF treatments.

Are the results also sent to Genesis?

Yes, the results are sent to you and to Genesis where they come directly to your practitioner. You have already given permission for this. By ordering this test, you give permission for the vague IVF blood test results to be sent to both you and your practitioner.

What does this IVF blood test consist of?

We test the AMH, FSH, LH, Estradiol, Prolactin and TSH. In addition, the D-dimers are measured. In addition, a blood group determination, including Rhesus factor, is determined and we gain insight into the hemoglobin, platelets and leukocytes through the general blood test. Finally, the CA-125 is also measured. This is a very complete IVF blood test.

Microbiologically, some things are also measured: HIV, Hepatitis B antigen and Hepatitis B core, Hepatitis C, Rubella IgM and IgG, Toxoplasmosis IgM and IgG, Syphilis ( Lues), Chlamydia IgG and VZV IgG. These are partly STD tests and partly pathogens that can cause congenital abnormalities.

Hepatitis screening: Hepatitis B (HBsAG), Hepatitis B (HBsAc ), Hepatitis B (HBcAc IcM), Hepatitis B (HBcAC total), Hepatitis C
Screening for infectious diseases is a common procedure in IVF. If this is not investigated, the infectious diseases may be transmitted to the child. If the result is positive, measures can then be taken to prevent this. This screening looks at hepatitis B and hepatitis C.

Syphilis & HIV: Syphilis (VDRL method), HIV
In the Netherlands, in addition to hepatitis screening, pregnant women are also tested for syphilis (lues) and HIV. As with hepatitis, syphilis and HIV can also be transmitted during pregnancy. Syphilis can cause birth defects or lead to miscarriage. For this reason it is important to test this. In the event of a positive result, antibiotics can be treated in consultation with a doctor.

Blood group: Blood group and Rhesus factor
Someone who is rhesus factor D negative can produce antibodies against rhesus factor D after coming into contact with someone who is rhesus D positive. When this occurs in pregnant women, it can harm the unborn child. Your antibodies will then destroy your child's cells. We do the blood test for blood group and rhesus factor at the beginning and in week 27 of pregnancy.

Thyroid values: TSH (+ fT4)
If you have problems with your thyroid, it can affect pregnancy or becoming pregnant. The thyroid gland regulates various processes in your body and is therefore an important organ. An underactive thyroid gland can affect your ovulation. An underactive or fast-acting thyroid gland can also cause problems during pregnancy itself. In case of abnormal TSH values, the free T4 is determined automatically.

The results of this IVF blood test will be sent to your Genesis practitioner. You will do this test on day two of your cycle.

When to do the IVF blood test?

You do this test on day two of your menstrual cycle.
The accuracy of the test for IVF bloedonderzoek is conducted through ISO-certified laboratories. The accuracy of a test method is expressed in terms of specificity and sensitivity. However, the most important aspect is that the results are interpreted and accepted among general practitioners and hospitals. This is the case with our venous samples. Mutual acceptance may not always be present due to potentially reduced reliability with a capillary sample.
Most tests generally take 24-48 hours. Tests that go through an LC-MS method generally take longer, think about an average of 3-7 working days. Additionally, it also depends on the location. Some locations do the analysis themselves and others outsource it to another lab.
Interpreting the results of IVF bloedonderzoek is not always easy and should be seen in the broader picture, along with anamnesis and physical examination. In the doctor's advice section, the query in which you can already outline your complaints is taken into account, otherwise, the results are interpreted in conjunction with the other results. If necessary, the doctor can call to ask about physical abnormalities. You don't have to interpret the results yourself because there is always advice and explanation from the doctor.
If the results of the test for IVF bloedonderzoek are clinically significantly abnormal, the doctor will contact you by phone. If you are not reachable, you will receive an email. This includes advice and an explanation of the abnormal results and what you can do about them. If you need a prescription or referral, we can help with that.
The costs of IVF bloedonderzoek can be found on the product page. Depending on your insurance and additional packages, you may be reimbursed for these costs for IVF bloedonderzoek. For example, tests for IVF treatment are often reimbursed. After your order, you will receive an invoice that you can submit to your insurance.
The ordering process is easy. You can add a IVF bloedonderzoek test or the tests you want to your shopping cart. In step two, you fill in your details and pay. Then you will receive an email confirmation and you can go to a collection location. After you have been there, you will receive the results of the IVF bloedonderzoek test in your Portal.
We are certified-ready according to the NEN 7510 and 7512 standards for secure data transfer in healthcare. The Portal is secured with two-factor authentication. Your data is also encrypted. We do not send the results of IVF bloedonderzoek to third parties without permission, not even to your general practitioner without your consent.
The blood test for IVF bloedonderzoek must take place at one of the collection locations we provide. At certain locations, it is possible for a phlebotomist to come to you. You can indicate this during checkout. An appointment will then be made as soon as possible to come to your home.
You can easily make an appointment for IVF bloedonderzoek blood test after your order in your Portal. You can visit almost daily in all major cities in the Netherlands. In smaller cities, you can visit on certain days. At certain locations, it is also possible to visit on weekends.
An interpretation by a doctor or an explanation is included in the IVF bloedonderzoek test. The explanation takes into account the query that you can specify in your Portal after ordering.
For blood tests, we always use venous sampling. This is the gold standard for blood collection. Over-the-counter tests, such as a finger prick test, use the capillary route for blood collection. These do not always give the same results and the accuracy depends on how, where, and with which technique the collection is done. The advantage, of course, is that the test is easier and less painful to take.
You can always pay with iDeal and credit card (VISA, Mastercard, and Amex). This also includes Apple Pay. The phlebotomists at the collection location cannot accept cash payments.
The results of Labplusarts can be shared with your general practitioner at your request. However, you can also easily arrange this yourself by downloading the result in PDF format. Because we use comparable test methods as the general practitioner, the results are interchangeable and comparable so that comparisons can be made well.
