What is prolactin?

Prolactin is a hormone with the primary purpose of stimulating milk production in the mammary glands. This hormone ensures that after the birth of the child before milk production is started and maintained. In men and non-pregnant women, the amount of this hormone in the blood is therefore normally low.

What is progesterone?
