Hepatitis
Hepatitis A, B and C cause approximately the same complaints that differ in severity and course. In addition, the transmission and risk of infection differ. Left untreated, these viruses cause liver failure or liver cancer. Hepatitis A does not cause any symptoms in children, but does in adults. Hepatitis B and C are more common in Asia. In the Netherlands we also have some risk groups.
If you belong to a risk group You can have yourself vaccinated. That option also exists.
We treat hepatitis with antiviral drugs at the gastrointestinal-liver (gastrointestinal) doctor.
